A substantial part of our philosophy is the taking over of the round oak-timber directly in the forest and store it on our own stockyard.
There we split, cut and stack it. The staves then mature for about 2-4 years exposed to the sun, air and water.

The purchase of the oak round-timber is a major effort for us, but it is the only way to guarantee the provenience of our timber, conveying reliability and continuity to our customers. The direct contact to our timber supplier, the certainty of provenience, the selection of the single logs from a suitable oak forest, all this for us are fundamental and very important preconditions.

Frequently our customers accompany us for the purchasing of the timber.
In this way our customers can get a picture by themselves of the quality, bulk, and the actual prices thereof.

The complete cycle of the production of a cask will be accompanied and controlled in every stage by Markus, Konrad and Peter Mittelberger personally. And we guarantee personally our reliable technical assistance.
